Sandra A. Schoonmaker, 71, of Equinunk, PA, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. She was born on January 10, 1945, the daughter of Alfred and Ruth Schoonmaker. Sandra was a member of the Round Hill Chapter 104 Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Dewayne E. Geer, son Edward J. (Samantha) Dix, daughter, Sydney (Steven) Dix-Reynolds, son, Jonathan D. Dix (Stacy Cosgrove), and son, Ira "Keller" Dix (Suzie Porosky), 10 grandchildren, Edward Kristopher (Carla) Dix, Victoria Lynn Dix, Cierra Simmons, Traci L. Bodie, Danielle (Dustin) Brown, Gordon Lynn, Corbin Dix, Michael Dix, Dustin Dix-Cosgrove, and Caroline Dix, 2 great grandsons, Edward Liam Dix and Dustin Allen Brown, 2 stepchildren, Patricia L. Geer and friend Lisa Seaman and Kenneth E. (Karen) Geer, and 3 step grandchildren, Charlie Cosgrove, and Devon and Derik Pabon. Sandra is also survived by 1 sister, Kathy (Joe) Doran, 3 brothers, Alfred (Barbara) and William Schoonmaker, and Richard Hopkins, sister-in-law, Bertha Schoonmaker, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Schoonmaker. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 1-2:45PM, at which time a service by the Order of the Eastern Star will be held.
