Shirley M. Couse, 68, of Hancock, NY, died on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 15, 1948 in Somerset, PA, the daughter of Frank and Bernice (Custer) Druhaloski. Shirley spent 25+ years as an aide at the Hancock Central School where the students were very important to her. She enjoyed playing afghan bingo and cooking holiday dinners for her family. Above all, her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. Surviving are 3 children, Jennifer and husband Tim Smith, Frank Couse Jr., and Michelle Couse, 8 grandchildren, who meant the world to Shirley, Kayla Smith, Frank III and Tiana Couse, Todd Possemato, Christopher and Bryant Mead, Robert Couse-Cone, and Justin Cone, and 2 great grandchildren, Rylee and Connor Mead. She is also survived by her brother in law, Walter Hutzell, and 3 nieces, Tammy, Tawny, and Donna. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Mary Hutzell.
