Socorro Marin, 66, of Hancock, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY, after a short illness. She was born on January 6, 1951 in Puerto Rico. Socorro was an amazing woman with a beautiful and giving soul. She was a family care provider for over 30 years, a preschool teacher, local business owner and a pillar of strength for the community. If there was an event, a need, a function- Socorro was on it. Her greatest joy in life were holidays with her family, summers with her grandchildren, working so closely and so often with her amazing friend base, her preschool students, and just giving anywhere and anyway she could. The love Socorro took home with her to our Lord will no doubt fill our heaven above. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, David S. Marin Sr., 3 children, Ann Marie and husband Stephen Kovaleski, David S. Marin Jr., and Linda and husband Nathan Mroz, and 7 grandchildren, Olivia and Hannah Marin, Abigail Mroz, Victoria and Stephen Kovaleski, Ella Mroz, and Sophia Kovaleski. She is also survived by 1 sister, Maritza Lugo, 1 brother, Carlos Arcelay, and several nieces and nephews.
