Stanley Sowizral Jr., 77, of Pleasant Mount, PA, died on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Allied Hospice Care in Scranton, PA. He was born in Bayonne, NJ, the son of Stanley and Elizabeth (Hegedus) Sowizral. Stanley attended schools in North Bergen, (St. Bridgets), Fairview, and graduated from Cliffside Park High School. Stanley apprenticed and became a printer and worked in several print shops in New Jersey. Stanley moved to his farm in Pennsylvania in 1973 and was a linotype operator at the Wayne Independent. He retired from Camp Lavi as a maintenance worker. Surviving are his devoted wife, the former Mary Lynn Robinson, 2 stepchildren, Shelley and Jeffrey (Heather) Robinson, Lake Ariel, PA, sister, Agnes OGara, 5 nieces, Noreen Coleman, Jean Zuhl, Susan Ginch, Pamela Sowizral, and Karen Sowizral, and 1 nephew, Paul Sowizral Jr. Stanley was predeceased by his brother, Paul. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, from 5-7PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Julianas Roman Catholic Church, Rock Lake, PA. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
