Stephen G. "Bucky" Kane, Jr., 81, of Lakewood, PA, died suddenly on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at home. He was born on November 26, 1939 in Honesdale, PA, the son of Stephen G. and Eleanor (Dietrich) Kane.
Buck lived his life in Lakewood, PA, graduating from Preston High School. He served in the US Army from 1958-1961 (including a year in Japan), earning a sharpshooter badge. He started out as a farmer, eventually taking over the family butcher shopthen worked in construction and as a truck driver up until retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, in Lake Como, PA, and a former Lions Club member, as well as a dedicated turkey carver at the annual St. Julianas Picnic. Buck kept busy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, and playing poker. He loved to be out and about socializing, having a good time or entertaining his friends around his bar that he built from scratch.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Kane, 2 sons, Stephen G. III, (and his wife, Ulka Agarwal), and Shaun (and his partner, Kathleen Zack), 1 granddaughter, Sayla Kane (and her partner, Travis Nelson), 2 great granddaughters, Araya and Daisy, and 1 brother, Richard J. Kane, as well as his constant feline companion, Booger. Bucky was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Margaret Ann Kane, a brother, Robert V. Kane, and his granddaughter, Daisha Kane.
A funeral mass will be held for family members only, due to COVID-19 regulations. Spring burial will be held in St. Julianas Cemetery, Pleasant Mount, PA., and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
