Susan Kay Nichols, 78, of Walton, NY, died peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at the home of her daughter, Angie. She was born on May 1, 1947 in Margaretville, NY, the daughter of Hanford and Helen (Titch) Nichols.

Sue was truly a people person who always put others before herself. She retired as a CNA from Countryside Care Center, where she enjoyed caring for others. After retirement, she unselfishly cared for her mother for several years until her passing. Sue loved to dance and was a proud member of the Tri-Town Dance Club, where she formed many lasting friendships. She also enjoyed trips to casinos, especially Turning Stone Casino, and found happiness in creative hobbies like quilting and making wreaths. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are 4 children: Kevin (Stephanie) Sanford, Scott (Heather) Sanford, Angela (Shawn) Felter, and Daniel Wood Jr.; 12 grandchildren: Katie Sanford, Jake Sanford, Hannah Sanford, Seth Wormuth, Benjyrm Sanford, Avah Sanford, Zachary Felter, Madison Felter, Caleb Wood, Cheyanne Wood, Dakota Wood, and David Wood; and 5 great grandchildren. Sue is also survived by 3 siblings: Allen (Fran) Nichols, Harry (Ruth) Nichols, and Margaret (Bill) Zoucha; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 5-7PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. Burial will be at a later date in the Bojo Family Cemetery, Fish Eddy, NY.
