Thomas A. Sampson Sr., 86, of Pleasant Mount, PA, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Forest City Nursing and Rehab Center, Forest City, PA. He was born on October 27, 1936 in Starlight, PA, the son of Murray O. And Eatherine L. (Mayo) Sampson.

Tom started school in Hancock, NY, and then graduated from Preston School in 1955. He served in the Army from 1956-1958, during which he did a tour in Germany as a field wireman. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he came back home to Pleasant Mount and married Alice M. Stephens and together they had 5 children: Tom Jr., Mark, Doreen, Gloria, and Beverly. Tom worked his entire life as a dairy farmer until he retired in 2002. He, then, worked several years as a security guard. He was a lifetime member of the Northern Wayne Fire Company where he was active with the fire police.

Surviving are his wife, Alice of 64 years; 4 children: Tom Jr., Mark, Gloria, and Beverly; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brother, Wendell Sampson, and several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his daughter, Doreen; and 2 grandsons, Thomas Sampson and Samuel Rowe III.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 11AM-1PM followed by a funeral service at 1PM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY. Burial will be in Starrucca Cemetery, Starrucca, PA, in the spring.
