Vaughn Warfield, 79, of East Branch, NY, died on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Wilson Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on May 9, 1945 in Hancock, NY, the son of Merle L. and Jessie S. (Peterson) Warfield.

Vaughn married Jean Gummoe on June 15, 1967 and she predeceased him on June 20, 2014. He then married Roseann Lamica.

Vaughn was an active member of the East Branch Fire Department for 50 years, a lifetime member of the Twin Rivers Hunting Club and in his younger years, Vaughn was an Eagle Scout. He worked for many years at Mallery Lumber and Johnston and Rhodes Bluestone. He could often be seen riding his tractor around the streets of East Branch and mowing lawns on his travels.

Surviving are his wife, Roseann; step children, Gloria (Danny) Houck, Roy (Pat) Gummoe, Rose (Chuck) Buchanan, and Rodger (Kay) Gummoe; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Merle (Charlotte) Warfield; and many nieces and nephews. Vaughn was predeceased by 4 brothers: Lyndon, Gary, David, and Frederick, and a sister, Glenneth Fenescey.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 11AM in East Branch Cemetery, East Branch, NY.
