Velma D. Baldwin, 85, of Winterdale, PA, died on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Roscoe Nursing Home, after a short illness. She was born on May 11, 1934 in Winterdale, PA, the daughter of Floyd and Eliza (Hallstead) Whitmore. Velma was married to Sidney Baldwin for 52 years before he predeceased her on March 29, 2009. She loved children and babysat many kids over the years. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. Surviving are 7 children, Shelly Ronk, Josey (David) Herzog, Bonita (Randy) Stanton, Steve (Mary Lou) Whitmore, Sidney Jr. (Karen), Everett (Cindy) Baldwin, and Janet McDonald, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and some great great grand children. She is also survived by 9 siblings, Jenny Dodge, Marie Rowe, Vicky Bullis, and Richard, Howard, David, Edward, Donald, and Jack Whitmore, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, June Gorton, son, Paul Herzog, and 6 siblings, Lois Drake, Ruth Rowe, John Whitmore, Nellie Mead, Helen Hillman, and Raymond Whitmore. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 11AM-12PM with a funeral following at 12PM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
