Waldron James Young Sr., 72, of Equinunk, went to be with The Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Born June 6, 1945, he was the son of Jesse and Grace (Eldred) Young Sr. Having been married on September 18, 1965, he is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lois (Kean) Young. Also surviving are their 4 daughters, Amy and husband Amos Gilson, Christa and husband Clarke Taninies, Shana Wrighter, and Melissa and husband Joel Griffin, as well as son-in-law Michael Wrighter and 10 beloved grandchildren, Chelsey (Hicks) and husband Terrance OBrien Jr., Eric Hicks, Brittany Taninies, Clay Taninies, Jordyn Lee, Tyler Griffin, Connor Griffin, Brianna Wrighter, Gary Milk and Jesse Milk, as well as 10 siblings, sister Rita and husband Walter Wink, brother Gary Young Sr. and wife Leanna, sister Connie and husband Melvin Lindsey, sister Betty and husband Richard Warfield Sr., sister Jean Young, sister Cindy and husband Everett Baldwin, brother Jesse Young Jr. and wife Susan, sister Roxanne Reynolds, sister Laurie Young, brother Randy Young and wife Donna, and sister in law, Leona White. Wally also has several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins surviving. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Grace Young Sr., his father and mother in law, Wilfred and Grace Kean, and a son Waldron (Little Wally) Young, Jr. Wally was a hard worker and could often be found lending a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors. He worked for 25 years for Penn DOT, as well as ran a small garage. He later worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Reflection Lakes POA and always tinkered on the side with construction. There wasnt a day that went by that he didnt cut some firewood and get ready for winter months. Wally was a member of a bowling team at Callicoon Lanes for many years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, rooting for Kevin Harvick and was thrilled to have gone to a few races. Wally really looked forward to his yearly trip to Myrtle Beach, SC, for his annual golf trip with all of the guys. More than anything, he loved being with family and friends and creating memories. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at the Equinunk United Methodist Church in Equinunk. Friends and family may visit from 10am to 1pm and a short service will be held at 1pm. If anyone would like to share a memory at this time, you are welcome to. There will be a luncheon that follows at the Lookout Hall of the Equinunk Fire Company, Route 191, Lookout, PA, on Route 191.The family requests that Wallys favorite comfy attire of a Carhartt pocket tee be worn to the services by the gentlemen instead of dress clothing. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wallys name, can be made to either The Equinunk UM Church (via Ruth Price, 1821 Pine Mill Rd., Equinunk, PA, 18417), or to The Pine Mill Community Hall (via Teri Barbiere, 12 Percys Rd., Equinunk, PA 18417- please designate these funds to the "New Roof Fund").Arrangements by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
