Wayne A. Banks , 78, of Fishs Eddy, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, March 19,2021. Wayne was born in Jewett, N.Y. on May 22, 1942, the son of Weldon and Eunice (Atwater) Banks. After 6 years of waiting for her fathers permission, he married Ramona L. Warfield on October 21, 1967. Wayne is survived by the love of his life, "Mona" his wife of 54 years; his daughters, Cynthia (Bob) Bennett of Lake Como PA and Elizabeth (Dan) Dryja of Groton NY; his grandchildren, Catherine, Hazel, and Jack Bennett and Cayden and Landon Dryja: sister in laws, Roberta Banks, Diana Banks and Elaine Warfield as well as many nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Eunice and Weldon Banks; his brothers David and Jarvis (Josh) Banks; brother in laws Harley (Buck) Warfield and Clinton Drum; sister-in-law Daltsey Drum. Wayne was a man of few words. His strength and grace came in a quiet easy nature. His patience was without measure. He retired from the Town of Hancock Highway Dept. in 2002. He was happiest in his garage fixing things or just having a chat with neighbors who dropped by. He was always so proud of his children and grandchildren. He passed his crooked smile on to his grandson, Landon Dryja. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten! A beautiful service officiated by Paul Cicio was held at the East Branch Community Church on Sunday March 21, 2021. At his wifes request, their favorite songs "Id Choose You Again" and "I Believe God Put Us Together" were played. Wayne was cremated as he requested.
