Obituary

William "Junie" G. Hanstine, 89, of Hancock, NY, died on Monday, September 23, 2013 at home. He was born on April 22, 1924 in Hancock, the son of William and Ethel (Griffin) Hanstine. Juney was a WWII Disabled Veteran and a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Deposit, NY. He married Barbara Botens on October 3, 1975 in the Christ Episcopal Church. Juney was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as an avid hunter. Surviving are his wife, Barbara, 6 children, Sharon Jacobs, Kathy Fino, Kevin Hanstine, John Mason, Barbara Mason, and Regina and husband Tom O'Boyle and many grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Carlyle Hanstine and several nieces and nephews. Juney was predeceased by a grandson, John Mason II, a brother, Harold Hanstine, and a sister, Clara Sweeney. Pallbearers were grandsons-Michael Kelly, Marc Fino, Todd Jacobs, Brad Jacobs, Daniel McGraw, Sam Worobey, Zachary Worobey, Patrick O'Boyle, and Connor O'Boyle. Honorary pallbearers were Jeffery Kelly and John Mason II. Calling hours were held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 7-9PM at the funeral home. A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 11AM at the Christ Episcopal Church, Deposit, with interment following in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.
