William J. Linke, 88, died on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Binghamton General Hospital, NY surrounded by his family. William (Bill) was born on April 10, 1937 in Bronx, NY, the son of the late William and Anna Linke.
In his early days, he attended the Worchester Polytechnic Institute which kick started his career in engineering. He was hired on at Bard Parker in Danbury, CT in 1967. His career with Bard Parker medical supplies had him relocate to Hancock, NY in 1973 to help set up the new plant and the scalpel blades dept. Here he met and married his beloved late wife, Tina (Ellett) Linke on Oct. 6, 1974. He eventually retired from Bard Parker/Becton Dickenson in 2004 as a Senior Process Engineer.
Together Tina and Bill lived a happy life in Hancock, NY and were members of St. Paul's the Apostle Church. They later moved to Starlight, PA where they embraced the country living, spending time with their dogs and taking care of the chickens on their beautiful property. They spent a peaceful five years together at another house in Starlight, PA finding joy in the sound of wind chimes and bird sightings from their screened-in porch. Bill was known for his quick wit and sharp sense of humor. When it came to sports, Bill played and enjoyed watching golf and the Miami Dolphins football team. He loved teeing up at the golf courses in his spare time.
Surviving are his 3 sons, Bill (Laura), Ed (Lisa), and Chris (Heather), his two sister's Jean Bradley and Beth Vines, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 11:30am at St. Paul's Cemetery, followed up with lunch and fellowship at St. Paul's Father Rausch Hall, located at 316 West Main Street, Hancock, NY 13783.
