William B. Phelps Sr. "Bill", age 88, of Hancock, NY, passed away at his home on December 21, 2014, after losing his second battle with cancer.William was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his sisters Bernice, Gladys, Marguerite and Effie, brothers, Kenneth, Thomas, and Raymond, and his parents, Carrie and William Sr.William is survived by his two sons Lawrence and William the Third."Bill" worked as a signal foreman for the New York, Ontario, and Western Railway until they went bankrupt and then he was an electrician for New York Water Supply on the Delaware Aqueduct. Following completion of the Aqueduct, Bill went on to be journeyman for the brotherhood of electrical workers until his retirement.After retirement, Bill and Virginia traveled the world until her death on November 24, 1999. He loved to hunt, fish, and model railroad. He was also fond of wood working and cabinet making. Bill was a member of the New York, Ontario, and Western Historical Society which he enjoyed doing research work and model making.The William B.
