Zachary V. Middleton, 18, of Starlight, PA, died suddenly on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at home after a lifelong struggle with epilepsy. He was born on October 29, 2003 in Susquehanna, PA, the son of Thomas and Heather (Smith) Middleton.
Zach was a senior at Hancock Central School. He worked at Lakewood Garage and enjoyed operating heavy equipment and tractors. He was excited to start working with his older brother, Thomas, at Shursky Stone. Zach loved going to B & E Scoops, McDonalds, and to the Outlaw for a haircut. He enjoyed trucks and especially loved fresh chocolate chip cookies. Zach was a kid who was always smiling and cared about other people. His "famous" phrase- "God Bless"- was something he said to anyone and everyone he met. If you asked Zach about his life hed say he was the lucky one living his American dream. He will be missed terribly by his family and friends.
Surviving are his mother and father, Heather and Tom; 3 brothers: Thomas (Rachael), Nicholas (Gwen), and Warren; nephew, Colsen; paternal grandparents, James Sr. and Lillian Middleton; maternal grandparents, Fred and Barb Smith; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Zach is also survived by many friends especially his close friends, Emmi Rose, Logan Butler, Henrik Klepper, Joe Hanstine, and Jimmy Orthouse; and his girlfriend, Mckenzy Brown. He was predeceased by his great grandma, Velma Mae Smith.
Due to Zachs lifelong struggle with epilepsy, he always made it known that if something were to happen to him, he would want his remains donated to science in hopes of helping others struggling with an illness, especially epilepsy. A celebration of his life will take place at a date to be announced.
