Zykmunt Akselrad, 65, of Hancock, NY, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at home. He was born on May 9, 1956 in The Bronx, NY, the son of Izak and Diana Akselrad. Ziggy was a generous man that deeply cared for those around him and would do everything he could for others, including giving the shirt off his back. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and bowling. He was a smart man and had a great love for music. Ziggy had many close friends and loved getting together and spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by all. Surviving are 1 daughter, Mary Akselrad and her mother, Arletta; 1 brother, Edward Akselrad; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; 2 sisters, Louise and Ann; and 1 brother, Alan. Cremation took place and a gathering with Ziggys friends and family will be held at a later date.
